Care & Maintenance

At Acrtmatic, we design our outdoor TV enclosures to withstand the elements, but a little care goes a long way. Our products are engineered with premium materials—including high-clarity Acrylic panels, durable ABS/PC shells, and robust telescopic brackets—to provide years of protection for your television.

This guide is designed to help you maintain the peak performance and crystal-clear visibility of your enclosure. Whether you are a new owner looking for cleaning tips or considering a purchase and want to see how easy it is to own an Acrtmatic, you’ll find everything you need here to ensure your outdoor cinema stays as pristine as the day it was installed.

Acrylic transparent panel care

  1. Cleaning Principles
Rinse first: Before wiping, rinse off surface dust and sand with low-pressure water. Dry wiping is the number one cause of scratches on acrylic.

Use a soft cloth: Always use a clean microfiber cloth. Avoid using paper towels, towels, or cloths containing coarse fibers.

Choose the right solvent: Use only diluted mild dish soap and water.
  2. Chemical Restrictions (Absolutely Prohibited)
Do not use alcohol (Alcohol/Isopropanol): Alcohol causes "stress cracking" in acrylic, resulting in fine micro-cracks on the surface and rendering the panel unusable.

Do not use glass cleaner (Windex): Commercially available glass cleaners usually contain ammonia, which will cause the acrylic surface to lose its shine and become cloudy.

Do not use thinners, gasoline, or solvent-based cleaners.

    3. Scratch Repair
If the panel has minor scratches, users do not need to replace the entire panel. Specialized acrylic polishing compounds (such as Novus No.2 or No.3) can be purchased and used with a soft cloth in a circular motion to restore smoothness.

Why We Choose High-Grade Engineering Polymers Over Metal?

  1. Priority on Safety: Electrical Insulation
During the design phase, we evaluated both metal and plastic materials. We ultimately chose high-impact engineering plastics to ensure Total Electrical Insulation. Metal enclosures are conductive and can attract lightning or conduct surges, posing a high risk to both your TV and your home’s electrical system. Our non-conductive shell provides a critical safety barrier during thunderstorms.
  2. Corrosion-Free Durability
Unlike metal, which can rust or corrode over time—especially in humid or coastal environments—our UV-stabilized polymer will never rust, peel, or corrode, ensuring a maintenance-free life cycle.
  3. Superior Signal Strength
Plastic allows for better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signal penetration compared to metal, which can act as a Faraday cage and degrade your smart TV's connectivity.

Why are our materials "cold-resistant"?

Thermal insulation barrier: Compared to metal casings (metals are good conductors of heat and will quickly lose internal heat to the outside), plastic is an excellent thermal insulator. Like a thermos flask, it better retains the small amount of heat generated by the TV's operation, creating a relatively mild microenvironment for the internal electronic components.

Winter-Specific Maintenance Suggestions

To ensure your outdoor TV performs smoothly through the winter, we recommend the following maintenance steps:

Snow removal: After snowfall, please promptly remove snow from the top of the casing. Although the casing can bear weight, melting snow and ice may block the drainage holes or vents at the bottom.

Power cord inspection: Check the power cable entering the casing. At -20°F, the cable sheath will harden; please avoid severely bending the cable at this temperature.

Ventilation Fan

The fan's USB port can be connected to a TV, and the fan will operate once powered on. If it doesn't work, we will send you a replacement fan free of charge. Please contact us.

Dealing with Glare

Outdoor reflections are a natural challenge for any enclosure. Here is our transparent approach to providing you with the best view:

  1. Our "Flexibility-First" Solution Since direct sunlight can cause reflections on any clear surface, we designed our enclosures for maximum adjustability:

180° Swivel Bracket: Use the full-motion arm to angle the TV away from direct light. A small adjustment of 10-15 degrees can often eliminate the most annoying glare.

Removable Front Panel: For critical viewing during high-sun hours, you can easily detach the front panel and pull the TV forward. This gives you an unobstructed view while keeping the TV's rear components sheltered.

    2. The Future of Our Anti-Glare Panels Currently, high-end optical Anti-Glare (AG) panels add roughly $200 to the manufacturing cost. We believe in providing value, so we are actively R&D-ing a more affordable AG solution.

Our Promise: Once this new technology is finalized in the coming months, we will offer a FREE panel upgrade to our current customers.
